Georgia Right to Life Speaks Out Against CO Shootings

Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) unconditionally rejects the use of violence or illegal activities to advance the sanctity of human life. GRTL executive director, Zemmie Fleck
stated, "We have profound sympathy for the shooting victims and their families. Such acts can never be justified. All human life is sacred - no exceptions."

Georgia Right to Life has a long standing policy prohibiting any involvement of GRTL staff or leaders in illegal activities. Instead Georgia Right to Life seeks to use education and legislation to protect all innocent human life. Georgia Right to Life is praying for all those affected and that justice will be served. However, any attempt to place the blame on the release of undercover videos takes the focus off the real culprit, an obviously troubled individual. This incident should be treated for what it is - a heinous crime - not the consequence of free speech.

Georgia Right to Life, founded in 1971, is the oldest and largest pro-life organization in GA. It is one of a number of organizations around the country that believe Personhood is the most effective strategy for upholding the sanctity of all innocent human life. Personhood is the cultural and legal recognition of the equal and inalienable rights of human beings. When the term “person” is applied to a particular class of human beings, it is an affirmation of their individual rights. In other words, to be a person is to be protected by a series of God-given and constitutionally affirmed rights such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
