Georgia Right to Life Announces New Legislative Director
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – Georgia Right to Life announced today that Mike Griffin, Executive Director of Ten Commandments Georgia, has been retained as their Legislative Director for the 2008 legislative session.
Daniel Becker, President Elect of Georgia Right to Life is excited about the new addition. “Mike has been very active through the years as a conservative leader in civic and moral concerns. He has run for the Georgia House of Representatives and received the endorsement of both Speaker Richardson and Governor Perdue. He is no stranger to controversial issues having fought against video poker, Sunday alcohol sales, the ACLU, and gambling.” Former Governor and U.S. Senator Zell Miller once said of Griffin, “He is a courageous leader that I respect and admire.”
Mike Griffin agrees with President Ronald Reagan. “We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life — the unborn — without diminishing the value of all human life.”
“I will be here at the Capitol calling on all legislators who have ever professed to be pro-life that now is the time to let the people vote. Lawmakers need to step up to the plate and give the people a chance to let their voices be heard. This amendment makes it clear that life is paramount and human dignity should be constitutionally protected for all of Georgia’s citizens,” said Mr. Griffin.
Mike has been serving as a minister in Baptist churches for over 25 years. He has written for various newspapers, has two weekly radio devotionals, and has traveled extensively doing mission work in India. He serves as the Chaplain for the Hartwell Police Department and has been a former volunteer firefighter. Mike currently serves as the Executive Director of Ten Commandments Georgia.
Mike is a native Georgian, born and raised in Thomasville, GA. He has been married to Liza for 29 years and has four children.
Georgia Right to Life is a non-profit, non-partisan, non-sectarian organization of diverse and caring people united to engage in actions that will restore respect and effective legal protection for all human beings from the moment of fertilization until natural death.
